So we’ve all heard of the Lochness Monster. The theories that she’s a dinosaur, who somehow, missed the mass extinction. The speculations that it was just a log. Everyone analyzing every angle of that one photo. But what if I told you, that Nessie isn’t the only one out there? In fact, during my research, I have found several accounts of Lochness type cryptids dotted throughout the globe. Today, I wanna focus in on the Mediterranean. Off the coasts of Cyprus, there is talk about a friendly sea monster who brings crashed sailors back to shore. Skeptics argue that the cryptid is instead an escaped crocodile, that used to be a pet. Witnesses recount being pulled to shore by a plesiosaur type of creature. While both theories are arguable, which one could be true? As a Paranormal Investigator it is absolutely paramount in my field to use discernment.
The Skeptics have a point, if someone had a crocodile as a pet and it escaped, it is entirely possible that it could have taken a likening to humans and be wanting to help anyone it deems in distress. Not to mention that crocodiles would adapt and thrive quite easily to a Mediterranean environment.
On the other hand:
Witnesses recount seeing a plesiosaur type of creature, and that must be noted too. while it might be possible to mistake a crocodile, it was apparent that the creature helping the witnesses had a neck. The first hand accounts are enough for me to consider this still presently debatable.
Underwater Cryptids are hard to prove, but just as equally difficult to disprove. It can be difficult to obtain evidence. But underwater exploration and photography technology has been making strides. If it’s true, then it is only a matter of time before more evidence rises from the depths to the surface.
